Island Records was originally founded in Jamaica by Chris Blackwell and is part of Universal Music Group. Reaching their 50th anniversary in 2009, Island is arguably the most prestigious record label in the history of British music. Artists signed to Island include Amy Winehouse, Bob Marley, Common, DJ Shadow, Erykah Badu, Florence And the Machine, Grace Jones, James Morrison, Jesse J, Kelly Rowland, Ladyhawke, Mary J Blige, Paul Weller, Pulp, Queen and U2.
Kahua runs Facebook advertising campaigns for a number of Island Records' artists including Encore, Jess Mills and Ren Harvieu.
Lisnmusic is a Creative Music Agency dedicated to offering bespoke music solutions for media projects. Clients include worldwide brands such as Microsoft, MTV, Suzuki, DC Shoes and Mercedes Benz and the company's services offer an independent music library, bespoke composition, music supervision, voice overs, sound design and audio branding.
Kahua's ongoing work with Lisnmusic covers a wide remit and has included: - sourcing new artists and music - writing website copy - developing a marketing and social media strategy - monitoring social media metrics - developing an e-marketing strategy and co-ordinating client communications - maintaining the Lisnmusic blog - running Facebook advertising campaigns - sourcing potential licensees and generating leads
Morton Bates Arts Services was established in 2008 to offer a range of services to arts organisations, companies and individual artists. Having previously built successful careers in the arts sector, Claire Morton and Joe Bates combined their breadth of knowledge and skills so as to offer a wider range of services and knowledge to their clients, bespoke to meet each client’s individual needs. Their clients range from solo and independent artists to large-scale, international touring companies across all performing art forms.
Kahua has run Facebook advertising campaigns for members of Morton Bates Arts Services' roster, including Dance & Digital Works (Yael Flexer & Nic Sandiland) and Richard Alston Dance Company.
Baker Street Recordings are a UK based record label releasing underground deep and tech house music.
As well as managing all pre-release promotional campaigns for Baker Street, Kahua provides on-going services in the area of online presence and social media. This includes blog design and maintenance, email newsletter design and support across social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, SoundCloud and YouTube. This support is delivered as advice and also 'hands-on' activities. Kahua also provides online 'listening' services, data tracking and analytical services for Baker Street. Transmit Consulting helps clients build or realise value across the commercial creative and social enterprise sectors.
Kahua has undertaken a number of research projects on behalf of Transmit consulting in various areas of the commercial creative sectors including music and new business initiatives both online and offline. One large project was undertaken on behalf of Transmit and One North East to research the music industry supply chain in the North East of England.
The Pacific Institute was founded in Seattle in 1971, by Lou and Diane Tice. Using powerful concepts aimed at getting people to understand their own potential and how to apply it, the organisation has grown from strength to strength. The Institute now works in over 50 countries, consulting with clients to deliver high performance and cultural transformation in organisations, local and central government, health, criminal justice, community regeneration and education systems, with a proven track record of success.
Pacific Institute (Europe) approached Kahua to provide music to accompany a new programme they were launching aimed at teenagers. This involved advising on copyright and publishing issues, pre-sourcing commercially available music to drive the creative process and ultimately working with Kahua's publishing division to create two bespoke pieces of music which are used by Pacific Institute when delivering the programme.
